Filters! Finally! Screenshot: Killian Bell/Cult of Android

Google Photos users can finally edit their images on the web, thanks to new browser-based tools that are available today.

The update sidesteps the need to use a third-party editing app to apply filters, effects, and other modifications — and allows you to view your images on a larger screen while perfecting them.

The Google+ apps for Android and iOS have today been updated with a number of new features and improvements. Both apps get user interface tweaks and the ability to re-share posts to communities, while iOS users will also see a number of Snapseed filters that will allow them to enhance their photos before they post them.

Nik Software, which was acquired by Google back in September, has brought its award-winning photo editing app to Android. Snapseed is available to download now from Google Play, offering all kinds of awesome filters and effects that will transform your otherwise dull photos into a work of art. What’s more, it’ll do it without charging you a penny.
