Press Reader

For today’s Tuesday Tweak, we’re focusing our attention on a very flexible RSS reader app called Press. It can be scaled-down to a widget and fixed on either a handsets home or lock screen. Press provides its users with the tools they need to read and save news from all their favourites sources, which they can then share on multiple social media profiles, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Google+.

If you prefer to read the news in a browser window instead of through an RSS reader or news app, such as Newsstand or Currents, then you’ll be glad to hear that Google is in the throes of launching a mighty much-needed makeover for its official news reader mobile website.

As of today you can request an invite to AOL’s brand new RSS reader. This is the internet giant’s first mark in the big wide world of RSS, and it comes just a week ahead of Google Reader’s planned shutdown on July 1. AOL will of course be hoping to get as many Google Reader users as it can on board.
