Amazon is the latest company to move into the ultra-hot area of mobile payments with a new hardware/software combination called Amazon Local Register.

It’s essentially a credit card reader that attaches to your tablet or smartphone, and is accompanied by an app, allowing small business to take credit card payments.

A database that included unencrypted passwords and personal information was compromised, but eBay promises your financial data is safe.

Google-Play-Store

Google today announced a major update to the Google Play Payments service by adding support for new methods of payments and developer sale countries. The biggest highlight of this update is that Android users can now pay for their apps, music, games or movie purchases from the Play Store via PayPal.

While checking out, users will automatically get an option to login to Google Wallet and pay via their PayPal account, if they wish to. Right now, PayPal integration is only available in 12 countries including the United States, Germany and Canada.

Using ordinary wood glue, a team of security researchers were able to create a dummy fingerprint and not only unlock the Galaxy S5 but also gain access to its PayPal app.
