Need more storage for your Nexus? Google’s latest models don’t have an expandable storage option, unfortunately — but that doesn’t mean you can’t add your own.

One Nexus 5 owners has proven it’s possible to add a microSD card slot to the device that’s fully supported by Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

LG_G3_3

One of the highlights of the LG G3 is that its impressive 13-megapixel camera has the ability to record super sharp 4K video, but it’s somewhat spoiled by LG’s aggressive post-processing. As is often the case, however, third-party developers have devised a tweak that makes 4K video recording even better.

It also boosts 1080p recording from 30 frames-per-second to 60 frames-per-second — but you’ll need root access to install it.

HTC-One-M8-press

The HTC One (M8) comes with quite a few software gimmicks and novelties including Motion launch gestures. These gestures allow users to directly launch the camera or even wake it up by simply double tapping on the screen even when the device is sleeping, However, unlike the LG G2, the M8 does not allow users to put it to sleep by double tapping on the screen, which means they have to press the awkwardly located power button on the top.

LG G2 Snap The LG G2 has a pretty decent camera to begin with. However, that does not mean it cannot be improved further via software tweaks, which is exactly what a developer over at XDA forums has done. He has taken the stock camera app on the G2 and its libraries and tweaked it to further improve the imaging capabilities of the handset.

youtube

One of the major issues with the YouTube app on Android is that it only plays back HD videos if your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network. Over 3G, the app only provides the option to playback videos in “HQ” mode.

With Android devices now packing full HD and higher resolution screens, watching videos on HQ mode is quite an eyesore. At the very least, Google should provide an option to view videos in HD mode even when streaming videos over mobile network.

Thankfully, a developer over at XDA forums has released a modded version of the YouTube app that allows for 720p/1080p video playback over 3G or Wi-Fi. The app will be especially handy for DROID DNA, HTC One, Galaxy S4 and other 1080p Android handset users, where videos in HQ mode don’t do justice to the screen of these phones.
