Optimus G Pro

Two of the most popular Korean operators, SKT and LG U+, are in the midst of pushing out an unexpected over-the-air (OTA) update to all Optimus G Pro handsets located in South Korea. In terms of functionality, the upgrade brings Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Sense 5.5 to the device, complete with the usual plethora of bug fixes, speed optimizations and stability improvements that we’ve grown to expect from any major software update.

A leaked soak test screenshot has been published on the internet revealing that AT&T’s much-anticipated Android 4.4.2 update for LG’s former flagship phablet of 2013, the G Pro, is currently in the final phase of development and should start rolling out by way of an over-the-air update very soon. It’s rumored that this upgrade ferries the latest build of KitKat, in addition to several enhancements for the company’s extremely unique user interface.

Word on the street has it that, LG is gearing up to launch its next flagship smartphone, dubbed the ‘LG G3′, on Saturday, May 17, 2014, in Times Square, New York, and is expected to be going on sale in Europe, Asia and North America shortly after its official unveiling.

LG’s first high-end phablet, the Optimus G Pro, was announced back in February and has only been available to purchase from independent third-party retailers for the past couple of months, but as from today it’s now also available to buy from AT&T.

The Optimus G Pro launched in Korea, back in February, and has steadily expanded to other countries around the world ever since. LG has officially announced that it plans to increase the availability of the G Pro, making it available in 40 countries throughout the period of Q3; this includes countries in Europe, CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), Latin America and the Middle East.
