EVO 4G LTE

As promised by HTC earlier this week, the full RUU for the Android 4.3 update for the Sprint EVO 4G LTE is now available for manual download and installation. Due to space restrictions, the company won’t be able to release the update via OTA so users will have to manually update their handset to the latest version of Jelly Bean.

Unfortunately, HTC was unable to meet its initial goal of updating the Evo 4G LTE by the end of 2013, leaving many of us disappointed. But, today, Jason Mackenzie, President of HTC America, officially revealed on Twitter that the update will be pushed to Sprint for review in “mid-January” and is expected to reach our devices by way of an over-the-air (OTA) update sometime in February.

On Saturday the President of HTC America, Jason Mackenzie, officially revealed on Twitter that the company’s former flagship smartphone of 2012, the EVO 4G LTE, is scheduled to receive the much-anticipated Android 4.3 and Sense 5 update before the end of 2013. This announcement comes just two days after the Happy Telephone Company started rolling out a rather significant stability upgrade for the handset.

HTC has started rolling out a minor over-the-air update for the EVO 4G LTE. Although it doesn’t bring any major software improvements, it’s still quite a significant stability update that we would strongly advise all users to download.

If you have an older HTC smartphone, you’ve probably been itching to get your hands on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 since HTC announced the flagship One earlier this year. The Taiwanese company has already confirmed that an update will be made available to a number of existing devices, but it hasn’t yet confirmed when it will arrive.

According to one source, you can expect it to hit the HTC One X around June or July.
