Samsung still hasn’t reversed its decision not to sell the Galaxy Note 5 in Europe, but new reports claim that will finally change in January, five months after the flagship phablet made its debut in the U.S.

It’s probably best you don’t get your hopes up just yet, however.

Apple’s iPhones might be on the verge of a big refresh this month, but that doesn’t make them any less appealing to those looking to take a break from Android.

In Europe, 27 percent of smartphone shoppers swapped their Android for an iPhone last quarter, while 9 percent of consumers made the same switch in the U.S.

The Galaxy Note 5 has already been a big disappointment for fans in Europe, who have been told they aren’t going to get it — but new information suggests Samsung may have changed its mind.

What appears to be a European version of the new phablet has been approved by the Bluetooth SIG, and a South Korean news outlet promises availability before the end of the month.

Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 5 is available to pre-order today for fans living in the U.S., but those in Europe are set to miss out. In fact, Samsung’s currently has no plans to launch the device there at all, and will focus on the Galaxy S6 edge+ instead.

Samsung has overtaken Apple to regain its lead of the U.S. smartphone market following strong sales of the Galaxy S6. The South Korean company’s latest smartphone became the third best-selling smartphone in its first full month on sale, trailing only the iPhone 6 and the Galaxy S5.
