Just for today, Verizon is offering the Droid Razr HD completely free of charge on any of its 2-year contracts — that’s an impressive saving of $99.99. This offer is part of Big Red’s Cyber Monday promotions scheme, and for a limited time only it is also be offering any new line activations free of charge. So if that’s not an incentive to purchase a new phone, I don’t know what is.

Motorola has confirmed that its Android 4.1.2 upgrade for the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX will begin its official rollout during the first quarter of 2013. The software first made an appearance on a small number of handsets back in late December, but Motorola quickly ended its rollout without explanation. Now it won’t be long before it’s moving again.

DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX owners rejoice, Ice Cream Sandwich is on its way. Starting today, Verizon will be pushing out software upgrade 6.16.211.XT912.Verizon.en.US. Not only will this bring all you RAZR users up to date with Ice Cream Sandwich, but it will also make the DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX the first 4G LTE smartphones on the Verizon Wireless network to be Global Ready.

Hold on, let me get my shocked face ready — okay, here it goes: the Verizon DROID RAZR won’t be getting Android 4.0 today *gasp*! After a CNET report which pegged the update for June 12, many Verizon customers took to their respective social networks to harass Verizon as to when they can expect to see the update. Unfortunately, Verizon’s response was the usual “we do not have a date for ICS on the RAZR yet.”
