Draw-Something--008

OMGPOP CEO Dan Porter has confirmed that a sequel to the smash hit drawing game Draw Something is “coming soon.” The first screenshot of the new title was posted to Twitter by none other than TV host Ryan Seacrest shortly before Porter made the news official.

“I somehow convinced them to give me #DrawSomething2 first,” Seacrest wrote.

If you didn’t already know, Google likes to name Android’s major iterations after tasty desserts. Starting with Cupcake and proceeding alphabetically, we’ve had Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, and now Jelly Bean. “K” is up next, and after a few rumors and process of elimination, most of us have made up our minds that the next iteration will be called Key Lime Pie. However, if you’re a skeptic, or are still holding out for Kahlua cheesecake, you might want to check out the drawing by Googler Manu Cornet.

Draw Something just got a stellar update.

Mega-popular Android and iOS app Draw Something has received a significant update that brings several new features and improvements. The ‘pull to refresh’ gesture has been implemented for loading new game updates, and you can now swipe with your finger to undo the last line you drew.

Drawings can now be shared directly with friends on Facebook and Twitter. You can also save your drawings locally to your smartphone.

With the Android Market having over 400,000 apps, it can be quite a daunting task trying to find apps appropriate for our young tech enthusiasts. With Monday’s Apps For Kids, we hope to make that task easier by suggesting an array of topics and apps that have been kid tested and parent approved. So grab whatever crayon is lying around and get ready to write down a few apps worth checking out.
