NVIDIA-Shield-Tablet

NVIDIA today made its new 8-inch Shield Tablet official following a series of leaks that revealed its design and specifications early. At $299, it’s the first device to offer NVIDIA’s own next-generation Tegra K1 processor, and with the help of the Shield wireless controller, it wants to go head to head with the consoles in your living room.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will launch with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 805 processor and a super sharp Quad HD display, according to leaked AnTuTu benchmarks. There will also be a second variant powered by a new Samsung Exynos chip, which is based on next-generation ARM Cortex technology.

If you spend under $100 on a tablet, chances are it’s not going to be very good. It’ll do the basics and allow you to run apps like Facebook and Twitter, but playing the latest games would be out of the question. HP is hoping to change that with the 7 Plus.

For just $99, this 7-inch slate packs a quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of expandable storage. HP promises “it’s got responsiveness that delivers entertainment where you want it.”

Warren East, who has spent the last 12 years as CEO of ARM, has announced that he will retire on July 1. During his time in charge, East has overseen ARM’s processor design powerhouse through some of its most explosive growth, thanks to lucrative deals with companies like Apple, AMD, and Qualcomm.

Wine, undoubtedly the most popular solutions for running Windows applications on Linux and Unix operating systems, is making its way to Android. The open-source software is currently being tweaked for ARM-based processors, but it is still in the early stages of development, so it’ll be some time before it’s ready for public release.
