The incredibly popular Internet travel booking company Priceline has announced that it’s sealed a deal to acquire OpenTable for $103 per share, which will set Priceline back a total of $2.6 billion — that’s $4 million less than Apple paid for Beats Electronics last month.

AT&T

The CMO of AT&T, John Stephens doesn’t sound all too optimistic about the merger between Sprint and T-Mobile going through. It seems like he’s speaking with experience here as the carrier failed to grope T-Mobile a couple of years ago and had to incur heavy amounts in fines for the cancellation of the deal. Stephens said everybody would be very surprised if the FCC and the authorities actually permit this acquisition.

Sprint - T-Mobile Merger

Speaking at a conference recently, the CFO of T-Mobile, Braxton Carter has thrown light on the ongoing talks of the carrier being acquired by Sprint. According to him, it is most likely going to happen, but he wasn’t sure when. This comes after talks of regulatory authorities such as the FCC cried foul over the proposed merger between the third and fourth largest carrier in the U.S.

Google - WhatsApp

The Senior Vice President of Google, Sundar Pichai has denied that the company ever bid on WhatsApp. While he acknowledged the potential in the company, he rubbished claims of the company being interested in purchasing the popular cross platform IM client.

O2-Ireland

Hutchison Whampoa, owner of Three U.K., has today acquired O2 Ireland in a deal worth €850 million ($1.1 billion). Telefonica, O2’s parent company, believes the move will “create a new competitive dynamic in the Irish market,” which Three can now claim 37.5% of with 2 million active subscribers.
