HTC has been hard at work on its Lollipop update for the One M8 since Google made the Android 5.0 firmware available to hardware makers, and it has promised that users would see it within 90 days of the AOSP release. But while you’re waiting, you can take an early peek at what it’s going to look like with Sense 6, thanks to these leaked screenshots.

As a result of that Sense 6 interface, Lollipop on the One M8 doesn’t look vastly dissimilar to the handset’s current KitKat software — but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Sense is considered one of the best third-party interfaces on Android, and chances are if you’re using an HTC device, you’re already a fan of it. You will find Material Design and Lollipop features shinning through in places, however.

In addition to the new Lollipop font, Sense 6 has Google’s improved multitasking view, lock screen notifications, improved quick settings, a searchable Settings menu, and a brand new easy mode. Users will also find new features like Smart Lock built-in, and significantly improved performance and battery life, thanks mostly to Google’s switch to the ART runtime.

LlabTooFer, which published these leaked screenshots, has also provided a hands-on video of Lollipop running on the One M8, which you can see below.

HTC hasn’t provided an exact release date for Lollipop yet, but its 90-day timescale promises a rollout before early February. One M7 owners should also see the software around the same time.
