Sony’s yet to give us a launch date for the Xperia X series it announced back in February, but it does have a new ad that showcases its Smart Capture camera technology. The company has also started teasing “an exclusive offer” for those who pre-order.

Sony told us about Smart Capture when it first unveiled the Xperia X series, which will replace the existing Xperia Z series — but in the ad below, we get to see it in action for the first time with its impressive Predictive Hybrid Autofocus.

It’s a mouthful, but if it’s as good as Sony claims, Predictive Hybrid Autofocus is going to be a blessing for those who frequently take pictures of moving subjects. It intelligently predicts how your target will move while keeping the focal point locked, so you always get a clear shot.

Sadly, we still don’t know when we’ll be able to get our hands on the Xperia X lineup.

Sony has begun emailing fans who registered their interest in the new devices to tell when that exclusive offers will be available to those who pre-order the Xperia X, Xperia XA, and Xperia Ear, but the email did not offer any more information.
