Lots of people love large smartphones, but not if they’re too large. Google learned this the hard way when it launched the 6-inch Nexus 6 and its smartphone sales started to fall, but Sony isn’t paying attention.

New images reveal the Japanese company is working on a new Xperia C series smartphone with a front-facing LED flash and a 6-inch display of its own.

Sony has released super-sized smartphones in the past. In fact, its Xperia Z Ultra with its 6.4-inch display was one of the largest smartphones launched to date, and the company followed that up last August with the 6-inch Xperia C5 Ultra.

Now it appears to be working on a new model. According to XperiaBlog, the images you see above and below reveal a supposed 6-inch Xperia C6 smartphone with a gorgeous edge-to-edge display ahead of its official debut.

The device also has a front-facing LED flash, as you can see in the photos, and it’s thought to be packing dual SIM card slots, and a MediaTek chipset.

There’s not much else we know about this handset right now, but if you’re one of the few who likes humongous phones, this must be pretty exciting stuff. Sadly, we probably won’t know whether or not Sony intends to release it until we get official confirmation.
