Sony has begun rolling out its Android 6.0 update for the Xperia Z5 series. The update packs all of the features you’d expect from a Marshmallow upgrade, in addition to Android’s February security patch.

This update is rolling out globally, according to Xperia Blog, and it’s available to the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Premium, and Xperia Z5 Compact. It’s not the very latest version of Marshmallow (Android 6.0.1), but it is a big one.

Users can look forward to Doze, which improves battery life; Google Now on Tap, which makes it quicker and easier to fetch useful information on the fly; and Android’s new app permission system, which is more user-friendly.

Sony has made various changes to its own user interface, and included last month’s security patch. About the only thing that’s missing, then, is Android 6.0.1’s new emoji — which should arrive in another update later on.

You can grab this update over-the-air, or via Sony’s PC Companion app for Mac and Windows. It might take several weeks to reach all users — those with handsets tied to a carrier will need to await its approval — but it’s on its way to you.
