A recent press render leak confirmed the Galaxy S7 series will have a curved glass back, but it won’t be the same curved glass back you get with the Galaxy Note 5.

According to new design drawings, the Galaxy S7’s rear panel will be even more rounded, while its camera hump won’t be as pronounced.

If you look closely at the image below, which was published on Twitter by the reliable @OnLeaks, you’ll notice the Galaxy S7 has curves not only on its side edges, but also its top and bottom edges, too. They’re very subtle, but they’re definitely there.

Couple this with the more rounded aluminum frame that holds the Galaxy S7 together and you have a device that’s nowhere near as sharp as the Galaxy S6 — despite looking awfully familiar at a glance.

The Galaxy S7’s camera doesn’t stick out as much, either, protruding just 0.8mm out of the handset’s back. That’s less than half the 1.7mm protrusion you get with the Galaxy S6’s camera, and it suggests that Samsung’s new 12-megapixel camera sensor will be significantly thinner than its last.

The Galaxy S7 might look a lot like the Galaxy S6, then, but don’t expect it to fit properly inside your existing cases. It should be a different beast internally, too, with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, expandable storage, and a pressure-sensitive display.
