Fresh leaks suggest Samsung will launch this year’s Galaxy S7 edge+ alongside the smaller Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. If all three devices go on sale in March as expected, then last year’s Galaxy S6 edge+ will be outdated just 7 months after making its debut.

It makes a lot of sense to launch the S7 edge+ alongside the other devices in the S7 series, and it’s great that fans of Samsung’s curvy smartphones won’t have to wait so long for it. But it is a shame that those who adopted an S6 edge+ will see it updated so soon.

Samsung is yet to confirm this yet, however. The rumor is based on a marketing image published by reliable leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks), which shows the larger S7 edge+ bring promoted alongside its smaller siblings.

This certainly suggests all three devices will all go on sale at the same time, but it’s not definitive proof of anything. We’ll have to wait and see if the S7 edge+ appears alongside the S7 and the S7 edge when Samsung makes its next-generation devices official.

Recent rumors have promised that will happen at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month — on February 21, to be precise. The Galaxy S7 series is likely to look a lot like the Galaxy S6 series, but upgrades are said to include a Snapdragon 820 processor, a new 12-megapixel camera, 4GB of RAM, and a pressure-sensitive display like the iPhone’s.
