Instagram And All Its Hipster Filter Glory Finally Arrives On Android
The moment all you hipster filter loving freaks have been waiting for is finally here. That’s right, Instagram has landed in the Google Play Store. This insanely popular social photography app has been exclusive to iOS up until now and has many amateur Android photographers giddy with excitement. Instagram is a fun, free, and easy way to share your photos and features:

  • 100% free custom designed filters and borders
  • Lux works its magic by making your photos more vibrant and brings out details in your photos you couldn’t see before
  • Instant sharing to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Foursquare (Flickr coming very soon)
  • Interact with friends through giving & receiving likes and comments
  • Works with Android versions 2.2 and above that support OpenGL ES 2
  • Full front & back camera support
  • And much much more…

Last month at SXSW the app’s co-founder, Kevin Systrom, took to the stage with some bold statements”

“it’s one of the most amazing Android apps you’ll ever see,”

“in some ways, it’s better than our iPhone app.”

Today we’ll get to see if those claims are true. Head on over to the Google Play Store now and download Instagram for Android. Let the hipster filter wars begin!

It isn’t showing up in the Play store on my Galaxy Nexus, and when I try to get it from the Play store in my Chrome browser, the Play Store on my phone crashes. Is this because it’s so new? Is anyone else having this issue? Sorry for my ignorance – I’m new to Android.

Are you still having trouble? Worked fine for me from the browser (Galaxy Nexus). I’d give it another try and see if it works.
