Amazon has been pretty generous when it comes to Android app giveaways in the past, but you ain’t seen nothing yet. With its new Amazon Underground app, the retail giant is offering up $10,000 worth of apps and games that are “actually free.”

Underground replaces Amazon’s regular shopping app for mobile, and includes all of the same functionality you’re already used to. But in its new Underground section, you’ll find an incredibly long list of Android apps and games that you can download for free.

Some of the titles on Underground are big names like Goat Simulator, Angry Birds Slingshot Stella, Sonic Dash, Bad Piggies, and a personal favorite of mine, Threes!

“Many apps and games that are marked as “free” turn out not to be completely free. They use in-app payments to charge you for special items or to unlock features or levels,” Amazon notes. “In Underground, you will find 100% free versions of popular premium titles.”

So, how do developers get paid? Amazon has agreed a “new business model with them,” it explains; they’ll receive a certain amount for every single minute their titles are used. But because Amazon is covering that cost, you don’t have to pay a penny.

Underground’s catalog is already pretty big, and Amazon promises it will continue to add new titles and new benefits over time. This isn’t a one-off promotion, either; it’s a long-term program that Amazon will continue to offer for the the foreseeable future.

To get the Underground app, simply visit Amazon.com on your Android device and tap the Underground banner. Before installing the APK, you’ll need to allow the installation of apps from unknown sources within your Settings app under the Security section.
