The big Paranoid Android 5.1 update has arrived for those with Nexus-branded smartphones and tablets. Based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, the release brings lots of new features and improvements, including Wi-Fi calling on the Nexus 6, a brand new Theme Engine, and VoLTE on select devices.

“We are proud to announce a new Nexus release based on the latest AOSP version but with our some of our key features baked in such as Theme Engine, Quick Settings Reordering, App Ops, Advanced Power Menu and the long awaited Immersive mode,” announced the PA team.

“Additionally, the shamu build [for Nexus 6] allows WiFi calling (for T-Mo US users) and VoLTE (for T-Mo US and Verizon users).”

Right now, Paranoid Android 5.1 is available only for certain Nexus devices, including the Nexus 6, Nexus 5, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013 models), and the Nexus 9. If you have another Nexus and you’d like to see PA 5.1 on it, you can get in touch with the PA team about testing.

To download PA 5.1, simply follow the source link below. Remember you’ll need to flash a GApps package containing Google’s apps alongside the ROM to get access to things like the Play Store and other Google apps and services.

If you aren’t already running a custom ROM, you’ll also needed an unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery to flash PA 5.1.
