Verizon has finally rolled out a software update for the new Galaxy S6 edge that fixes a frustrating screen rotation bug, which caused the display to become stuck in portrait mode.

The issue first appeared on the S6 edge shortly after the device made its debut (yes, it’s taken Verizon that long to fix it!), and it began as an occasional glitch that prevented the handset’s auto-rotate feature from working properly. Over time it became even worse, and killed auto-rotate altogether.

The glitch was so bad that there was no workaround to fix it — not even temporarily. Toggling the screen rotation feature fixed nothing, and neither did a complete restart of the device. Fortunately, Verizon is now distributing Samsung’s fix to S6 edge owners.

If you have an S6 edge on Verizon, then, you should expect to see an update notification for this fix soon. If you don’t want to wait for that, you should be able to find the release manually via the software update section inside the Settings app.
