Finding your lost or stolen Android devices has never been easier, thanks to a new feature that allows you to locate devices simply by searching for them on Google.

“We’ve all been there — you’ve searched under your car seat, tossed around the sofa cushions and you still can’t find your phone,” Google says. “If you know where your computer is, you can now ask Google to find your Android phone from your desktop.”

All you need to do is visit Google.com, then enter the words “find my phone” into the search engine and Google will instantly locate the devices logged into your account.

If the device looks like it’s nearby, you can use the “Ring” button to play a sound that should make it easier to find.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to lock or wipe devices using this method; you’ll need to log into the Android Device Manager for that. But if you’re confident your handset is nearby, this is a quick and easy way to locate it.

To locate your Android device using this method, just ensure you have the latest version of the Google app installed.
