I don’t know about you, but I’m forever missing notifications because I forget to disable silent mode on my phone when I wake up. But in Android 5.1, you can have your volume turned up automatically when your alarm goes off.

Shipping now on Android One phones in emerging markets, and expected to hit Google’s own Nexus devices soon, Android 5.1 comes with a whole host of bug fixes and some handy new features — like the ability to switch Wi-Fi and Bluetooth networks inside Quick Settings.

Another handy addition, spotted by Android Police, is the ability to set Lollipop’s silent mode to disable automatically when your next alarm goes off. In addition to the existing “indefinitely” and “for one hour” options, you’ll also get “until next alarm.”

But as for that real silent mode — the one that disables vibrate as well as sound — that’s still missing. Google is expected to bring it back at some point, but for Android 5.1 at least, it’s still nowhere to be seen.
