HTC’s One M9 will be just as powerful as the Galaxy S6

We’ve already seen some leaked specifications for Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, and we couldn’t be more excited by them.

But don’t think HTC isn’t ready to give its South Korean rival a run for its money; rumored specifications for the upcoming One M9 look just as appetizing.

The ever-reliable @Upleaks has published a list of the One M9’s specifications, and they include a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor — which reportedly wasn’t good enough for the Galaxy S6 — as well as 3GB of RAM, up to 64GB of internal storage, and a 2,840mAh battery.

HTC is also expected to address one of the biggest complaints fans had with previous One series handsets by giving the One M9 a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera and dual-LED flash, plus a front-facing 4-megapixel UltraPixel sensor.

HTC’s popular BoomSound speakers will also be built-in, as expected, as will Bluetooth 4.1, a microSD card slot, and Cat-6 LTE. @Upleaks expects the One M9 to ship with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop pre-installed with HTC’s brand new Sense 7 user interface.

Perhaps the only downside to the One M9, at least on paper, is that it reportedly won’t have a Quad HD display like many other 2015 flagships. Instead, HTC is expected to stick with the same 5-inch 1080p panel that was featured in last year’s One M8.

That’s not likely to be too much of an issue for the vast majority of One fans — the upside should be better battery life — but there will be some who were hoping for a sharper screen.

What do you think of the One M9’s rumored specifications? Would you choose this over the Galaxy S6?
