Microsoft Office is coming to Android tablets, and you can be part of a select group of users who will get the opportunity to test it ahead of its Play Store debut. Microsoft is now accepting registrations from those who would like access to its beta, which brings the mobile versions of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint to bigger screens.

In addition, the software giant has announced that all Office mobile apps are now free to use.

Office for Android tablets is essentially identical to the iPad version, which Microsoft released back in March. That’s certainly a good thing; it’s well designed and fit for fingers, and its bold and vibrant colors actually suit Android 5.0 Lollipop’s new Material Design language pretty well.

In an effort to make Office accessible to “everyone, everywhere,” Microsoft is making them free to use. On both Android and iOS, you’ll be able to create and edit content in all three applications without an Office 365 subscription.

Those who do choose to sign up, however, will continue to enjoy benefits like advanced editing and collaboration capabilities, unlimited OneDrive storage, Dropbox integration, and more.
