Spotify is finally allowing music lovers to share their subscriptions with their family and friends with a new Spotify Family plan. Prices starts at just $14.99 a month for up to two, while the top tier $29.99 a month plan allows one subscription to be shared with up to five people.

Paying $9.99 a month for unlimited access to all the music you can listen to isn’t exactly a bad deal, but if you’re a parent and you’re paying three or four of those subscriptions to allow your whole family to enjoy Spotify, the price quickly shoots up. Spotify Family helps make situations like this more manageable.

For just $14.99 a month — $5 more than the regular Spotify plan — two users can share one Spotify subscriptions and listen to as much music as they wish simultaneously. $19.99 lets three people share one plan; $24.99 a month lets four people share, and $29.99 lets five people share.

In comparison, five regular subscriptions for five family members would currently cost $49.95.

“This is one of the most asked for features from our audience,” says Ken Parks, Chief Content Officer at Spotify. “With today’s announcement we’re making it easier than ever for the whole family to experience Spotify Premium on their phones, at home and on the go.”

What’s more, Spotify will even allow individuals to keep their accounts separate, so even though they’re sharing the same subscription, they can still have their own playlists and their own recommendations.

Spotify Family will be available globally in the coming weeks, Spotify says.
