Motorola smartphone users can now use their Android Wear watch as a remote shutter control. The feature, which is already available inside of Google’s universal Camera app, is available with the latest version of the app that’s available to download now from Google Play.

Having a remote shutter control is great for snapping selfies and group photos. Simply prop your phone up, stand in front of it with your friends, and then tap your Android Wear watch to take your photo. You can also use it when your phone is attached to a tripod for when you need those super steady shots.

Setup is super simple: Once you’ve installed the latest version of Motorola Camera, the app will trigger a new notification on your Android Wear watch that will ask you whether you wish to use your wearable as a remote shutter control every time you open it. Just tap the notification and you’ll get a big shutter button that’s ready when you are.

If you don’t have a Motorola smartphone, then you’ll find the same functionality inside of Google’s own Camera app for Android. It doesn’t matter which Android Wear smartwatch you own — both Motorola Camera and Google Camera are compatible with all of them.
