Yes, Motorola did just announce its second-generation Moto G, but it’s only available with 3G connectivity initially. If that just isn’t speedy enough for you, you’ll be ableĀ get the original (2013) Moto G LTE from AT&T beginning Friday, October 10.

Last year’s Moto G might be old news now, but it’s still a very capable smartphone with a very attractive price tag. For just $179.99 off-contract, you get a 4.5-inch 720p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 8GB of internal storageĀ that’s expandable via the microSD card slot, and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera.

The device also comes with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed, and you can bet it’ll be on Motorola’s list of devices getting an Android L upgrade sometime this fall.

If you’re not too concerned about having the latest and greatest, then, and you’d prefer 4G connectivity and a slightly cheaper price tag, the Moto G LTE could be right up your street. And if you don’t want to pay $179.99 for it upfront, you can get it on an AT&T Next plan for $9 over 12 months, or $17.50 over 18 months.
