There has always been a lack of official cases and accessories for Nexus devices from Google. This time though, it looks like the company is all set to unveil a barrage of accessories including a keyboard folio with its upcoming 9-inch tablet from HTC.

According to the information obtained by Android Police, the cover flap of keyboard folio for the HTC Volantis will be segmented and fold up to form a stand just like Apple’s smart cover. It will also contain magnets within it for automatic wake up/sleep functionality as already present in existing cases for the Nexus 5 and 7.

The keyboard will apparently have a dimension of 228 x 320 x 5mm with a key space of around 15mm and a height of around 3mm. Besides the normal QWERTY keys, the keyboard will also contain “Android function keys” possibly to make using a keyboard with a tablet OS easier.

It will also feature Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC for easy pairing with Android tablets. The keyboard will also come with a 450mAh internal battery so that it does not suck battery from the tablet itself while in use. This, however, means an additional device to be charged on a regular basis.

The HTC Volantis is going to be the first tablet from Google with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a 64-bit processor under its hood.
