The Asus ZenWatch will make its debut at IFA next month.

Asus today published a new teaser video for the ZenWatch, confirming the name of its first Android Wear smartwatch ahead of its IFA reveal next month. The 35-second clip also gives us a brief glimpse at its design, which includes plenty of metal.

It seems there will be a number of new Android Wear watches to look forward to at IFA 2014 in Berlin next month, and while the Moto 360 and the LG G Watch R may be the most exciting, you shouldn’t dismiss the Asus ZenWatch just yet. After all, the company has been promising us something special.

Asus has already said that its watch — unlike its rivals — will be affordable. Recent reports have suggested it could cost as little as $99. But that doesn’t mean it will look and feel cheap. Based on the teaser below, it seems there will be very little plastic in sight.

Earlier this month, Asus CEO Jerry Shen revealed that the company has been working with Google for some time on the ZenWatch, and that the device has been well-received. It will no doubt will be hoping for a similar reaction from consumers and the media after its official announcement at IFA on September 3.
