Huawei hints at fingerprint scanner for upcoming flagship

Huawei has just sent out another batch of requests to a press event it’s holding in Berlin on Thursday, September 4, which coincidentally happens to be the eve of the annual IFA conference — the second largest consumer electronics show in the world.

The invitation doesn’t reveal much about the event, but the design leads us to believe that the Chinese company next rumored upcoming flagship phablet, the Ascend Mate 7, may make an appearance with a fingerprint scanner on board.

Recent speculation suggests that the device will be available in two 6-inch variants — one with a QHD display and the other with Full HD. Powering both these models is expected to be Huawei’s very own Kirin 920 octa-core processor coupled with a mighty 2GB of RAM. Whispers indicate there will also be a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter.

As with all leaks and rumors, we have to take these alleged specifications with a pinch of salt until Huawei provides us with some solid evidence regarding what it has in store for its next flagship phablet  — but thankfully won’t don’t have to wait too much longer until we find out.
