Today, Google started pushing out an update for its official Google+ application via the Play Store. In terms of added functionality, this upgrade brings users the ability to cast their timeline to any Chromecast connected TV, in addition to a handful of bug fixes, stability improvements and speed optimizations.

Once you’ve updated your copy of the Google+ app to version 4.5.0.72928916, you will see a small 3×3 Cast button located in the top right-hand corner of your timeline. It’s important to bear in mind that this logo will only appear in your ‘Everything’ stream and not inside an individual circle, trend or community feed.

When casting from your smartphone to a TV with Chromecast, the user interface will look pretty similar to the application on your phone. However, you will notice that any on-screen navigation controls will be hidden in order to increase screen real estate on your TV.

To install the update, simply open up the Play Store on your device, toggle the hamburger menu by swiping in from the left-hand side of the screen, select ‘My Apps’ and click on Google+. Then, hit the update button, and the app will instantly start to download and install the upgrade from the Google Play servers.

Alternatively, if the update isn’t ready for you to download on your device, yet, you can manually grab the APK from Android Police and install it on your handset, but you will need to enable third-party installations in your Settings menu in order to do so.
