LG G3 will soon be available in pretty new colors in the U.S.

Back in May, LG announced five new colorways for its flagship smartphone, the G3 –Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Moon Violet, and Burgundy Red. Two months on and both the violet and red options are still not available in the United States. This has left some consumers who wanted to bag themselves either of these two options scratching their heads and searching for answers. Thankfully, LG has today spoken out and provided us with an update on the subject.

“Additional G3 colors such as Moon Violet and Burgundy Red will be rolled out in select markets starting in August and continuing over several weeks. Exact colors and dates will be decided locally in conjunction with carriers. Announcements will be made in each market at the time of availability,” writes LG in a post on its official blog, today. So there’s your confirmation. The company hasn’t forgotten about the hues and is, in fact, working with carriers to distribute them in some areas as early as next month.

Unfortunately, it’s unclear at present whether any of the U.S. carriers will be interested in launching the smartphone in either, neither or both of the two new colorways. Currently, the G3 is only available in Metallic Black or Silk White from AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, whilst Sprint is only stocking Metallic Black and Shine Gold variants. We think it’s pretty likely that Verizon will opt for the Burgundy Red model, though, seeing as the operator loves to hold exclusivity over anodized handsets that represent the color of its logo.

What’s your favourite colorway? Will you be picking up the G3 in Moon Violet or Burgundy Red when they eventually touch down? Be sure to let us know in the comments section down below.
