App of the Week: Hello SMS

Hello-SMS-Android

Today’s App of the Week, Hello SMS, made its debut appearance on the Google Play Store back in 2013, and has been recognized as the most elegant, futuristic, fluid, user-friendly, streamlined and feature-packed third-party text messaging client ever since. So, consequently, we’ve decided to bring the application its very own review here on Cult of Android.

Unlike other SMS apps currently available to download from the Play Store, Hello SMS incorporates an extremely unique tabbed user interface for your conversations. It copies the profile photos in your contacts list and sets them within neat little circles in the left pane — users can navigate between chats simply by swiping in from the left-hand side of the screen and tapping on a contacts name.

When using this application, it quickly becomes obvious that simplicity was the design team’s main objective. There’s no inbox, no clutter and no ads, which makes finding chats and sending messages a pushover. You no longer have to rummage through tons of folders just to find one particular message as they are all located in one place.

If you’re prone to sending a large number of group messages, then Hello SMS is the perfect client for you. Thanks to its built-in ‘group user interface’, the service permits you to type a list of up to 15 contacts to send identical messages. When they reply their messages will automatically be displayed in a new group chat, rather than separated into different conversations as we’ve found with other third-party clients. With this app sending photos is super easy too, with its on board camera button and its simple image picker.

Hello SMS is by far the best third-party SMS client we have tested here at Cult of Android, and if you’re in the market for a new free text messaging application we strongly urge you to give it a try. If you want to download the application completely free of charge — click the link below.
