Fleksy’s latest update brings premium themes and lots of new languages

Fleksy, the popular space-saving keyboard for Android, is hoping to stay hot on the heels of SwiftKey with a new update that introduces the ability to buy and apply premium themes. It also makes improvements to Fleksy’s surface design, adding new colors and animations — and introduces a whole bunch of new languages.

Six premium themes are available right now, and Fleksy plans to add many more later on. Those who own Fleksy premium — the paid version of the keyboard — will be able to choose one to download for free. The rest will cost, however, and Fleksy makes it clear that premium add-ons like this will be where it makes its money.

The average Fleksy user uses our product 180 times a day, and spends 1.5 hours looking at the keyboard each and every day. We believe this exposure gives us a fantastic platform to offer premium content and customizations for the keyboard,” said Fleksy founder and COO Ioannis Verdelis.

“By introducing Fleksy Store, we have an unbounded opportunity to expand with premium product features, while maintaining the clean and simple Fleksy experience which appeals to first time users.”

The Fleksy Store will also be available on iOS 8 when the update makes its public debut this fall.

In addition to premium content, today’s update “introduces an evolution of the iconic, minimal look of Fleksy” with some design improvements, and adds 17 new languages — including Brazilian Portuguese, Australian English, Canadian English, Canadian French, and U.S. Spanish.

If you don’t already have Fleksy premium, it’s currently half price (just $2) in Google Play. Follow the link below to find it.
