Google Play Store update with Material Design rolling out

Google has started rolling out an update for the Play Store app that brings with it partial implementation of the company’s new design language — Material Design.

The main page and the basic UI elements of the Play Store still remain the same but apart from that everything else has been given a beautiful revamp.

The app page, reviews and the rating UIs have all been revamped and now look exactly like the images posted by the folks over at Android Police last week. Google seems to have re-built things from the ground up for its new design language and has made extensive use of the header image in an app listing, which looks gorgeous now.

Play Store updates are slowly rolled out via OTA so you will have to be patient for at least a couple of weeks for the update to land on your device. If you cannot wait for some Material Design goodness, simply download the APK from here and install it.

Since this update only brings about a partial UI revamp, I’d expect Google to roll out another update to the Play Store sometime near the Android L release date with other elements of the UI revamped as well.
