HTC One M8, M7 and Moto G GPe receiving Android 4.4.4 update

HTC-One-M8-Google-Play-Edition

Google has started rolling out the Android 4.4.4 update for the Google Play edition HTC One M8, M7 and the Moto G. The company had initially rolled out the update to the Nexus 5 and other Nexus devices a couple of weeks ago, mainly to fix a serious bug related to an OpenSSL vulnerability.

The change-log for the update also suggests some performance and stability improvements, but they are strictly behind-the-scenes and will not affect the end user in any way.

The devices were already updated to Android 4.4.3 sometime in mid-June, which bought with it a number of subtle changes and bug-fixes. Since this is an OTA update and is being rolled out in phases, chances are it will not show up immediately on your device.

However, if you are impatient, you can always sideload the update manually. Simply grab hold of the OTA update file from XDA and then follow the steps mentioned here.

If you notice any other changes that Google has slipped by in this rather small OTA update, do drop in a comment and let us know.
