The Nexus 5 and the Nexus 7 will be the first devices to receive Google’s new Android 4.4.3 update today, according to T-Mobile. The release, which will roll out over-the-air, and brings important security enhancements and bug fixes.

We’ve been waiting for this KitKat update for many months now. Nexus 5 users in particular have been looking forward to it since Google promised it would bring fixes for a dreaded camera bug that’s been causing abnormal battery drain. It’s not a major Android upgrade, but it is a welcome one.

The Nexus 5 update comes with build number “KTU84M,” while the Nexus 7 release carries build number “KTU84L.” Presumably this update will reach Nexus devices on other carriers and in other regions around the same time — but like all Google updates, it will rollout in phases. If you don’t see it straight away, then, don’t worry; it should be appearing very soon.
