Demand For The HTC One M8 Believed To Be Very High In Taiwan

HTC M8

The HTC One M8 broke cover roughly a week ago in the U.S., UK and the company’s home region of Taiwan. While there are no sales figures available for its sales in the U.S. or the UK at the moment, retailers in Taiwan are claiming that the smartphone is moving along quite well.

This comes as no surprise given that this is a newly announced device and probably one of the best looking Android handsets in the market today.

Interestingly, the Asian variant of the M8 runs a slightly overclocked version of the Snapdragon 801 chipset compared to the U.S. or the UK models, which is a bit of a surprise.

The smartphone retails for NT$21,900 ($719) in the region, which is slightly on the expensive side compared to the pricing in the U.S.

With the Samsung Galaxy S5 launching in a couple of weeks from now, it is imperative that HTC makes the most of the head start it has received for its new flagship. It will be very interesting to see if this demand will remain consistent throughout April after the launch of the Samsung flagship.
