Sense 6 Coming To Original HTC One This Spring

HTC confirmed today that its new Sense 6 user interface, which makes its debut on the new HTC One M8 this month, will be coming to the original HTC One this spring.

In addition to some welcome changes to BlinkFeed, it boasts big improvements to Sense TV and HTC Zoe, customizable color schemes, and more — but not all features will be available on last year’s flagship.

“Completely redesigned with a cleaner, more striking visual style, HTC Sense 6 features bold, customizable color themes and delivers a more intuitive, personalized user experience,” HTC said in its press release today.

BlinkFeed now features a reworked interface with continuous scrolling, adaptable tiles, and a new layout — and HTC is introducing a new SDK that’ll allow partners to integrate new content.

Sense TV has been redesigned to become an interactive second screen, and now supports sports statistics for the 10 most popular sports in the world. It also offers Facebook and Twitter integration, allowing users to discuss their favorite shows with others while they watch them.

Other improvements include a new energy saving power mode, Motion Launch, Zoe in the Cloud, and lots of new camera features. HTC has also made a number of Sense 6 apps available through Google Play so that they can be updated without firmware upgrades.

But the original One won’t get all of these news features. HTC has vowed to port over as many as it can, but not all of them will be compatible with last year’s handset; some rely on the new technology that’s only available in the latest model.

HTC said Sense 6 will be available to the original HTC One this spring. We hope to get a more specific release date in the coming weeks.
