Yesterday, HTC U.K. tweeted a post bringing to our attention the Desire 816, with its 13MP rear-facing camera, it 5.5-inch HD screen and its dual-frontal speakers, evidently confirming that the handset will, indeed, be heading to the United Kingdom at some point in the not-too-distant future.

HTC’s new mid-to-high range smartphone will launch in China before the month’s out, and is expected to make its debut appearance in Europe, North America and South America within the first two weeks of April.

Unfortunately, we have no official information with regards to the Desire’s pricing, but we do know that Amazon has priced the handset at €379 ($528) in some European markets, though, it’s not currently available to order. So, obviously, this price could change when the device officially hits the U.K.

In terms of internal components, the Desire 816 will feature a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, a Qualcomm MSM8928 Snapdragon 800 chipset powered by four 1.6GHz Cortex-A7 CPU’s, 1.5GB of RAM, an Adreno 305 GPU, a 13MP rear-facing camera and a 2,600mAh battery.

The phone is rumored to ship running the latest build of Android 4.4.2 KitKat with HTC’s custom user interface (Sense 5.5) plastered over the top, and will receive the much-anticipated Sense 6.0 update upon its release.
