Moto X Owners On AT&T Should Check Their Mailboxes Later Today

If you own a Moto X on AT&T and have joined the Motorola Feedback Network you should be receiving an invitation for a new soak test this afternoon. Unfortunately, we don’t know exactly what this latest update will bring, but recent rumors suggest that the latest build of Android 4.4.2 KitKat will be included, together with some minor fixes for the built-in camera application.

Android 4.4.2 is an incredibly major upgrade from 4.3, which this device currently runs, packing a completely redesigned user interface, SMS message integration in the standard Hangouts application, Google Now on the home screen, Wi-Fi printing capabilities for HP ePrinters and Google Print customers, autocomplete for the traditional telephone dialer, Emoji integration for the stock keyboard, built-in word processing software (Quickoffice) and lots more.

“Thanks for joining the Motorola Feedback Network. We are inviting owners of the Moto X on AT&T to participate in an early preview of a new software release, and provide feedback. If you are not currently using an AT&T Moto X, please excuse and ignore this email. ” Says AT&T in a soak invite sent out to all members of the Motorola Feedback Network.

“Click this link — [redacted] — to take the enrollment survey if you wish to take part. Note that you must be a member in good standing of the Motorola Owners’ Forums to be included. The registration window could close without notice so please respond as quickly as possible.

This is a confidential test under the terms of the Motorola Feedback Network. Do not post any details or information about this on any public sites.

Thanks — please understand that start times are always fluid. We ask for your patience if you register but don’t hear from us right away.”

These carrier branded soak tests have been relatively short on other devices over the course of the past four months, so it certainly looks like Android 4.4.2 will be arriving on all AT&T-branded Moto X’s in the not-too-distant future.
