Samsung unveiled its second scaled-down portable Galaxy Tab 3 variant, the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, back in June, 2013, and a month later the device was available to buy in the United States from several independent retailers for $399. However, if you haven’t had the opportunity to get your hands on one before now, it may be of interest for you to know that Best Buy is currently offering the slate with a $70 discount.

The Tab 3 8.0 is an impressive mid-range tablet, which packs an 8-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels, an Exynos 4212 chipset powered by two 1.5GHz CPU’s, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD), a Mali-400MP GPU, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter and a beefy 4,450 mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery.

The device will ship running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI plastered over the top – which the South Korean company claims is the “easier way to use your device, giving you intuitive control over everyday tasks.”
