Sprint has announced that the much-anticipated Android 4.4.2 KitKat over-the-air update is currently in preparation for its carrier-branded Samsung Galaxy Mega (5.8 and 6.3), Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S III, and Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 variants located in both North and South America.

According to the press release, all of these devices are expected to receive the upgrade by the end of this year’s second quarter, though, we expect it to be sooner rather than later as operators usually make public announcements of updates when they’re almost ready to begin their roll out.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any more news with regards to the updates at this stage, but, according to Sprint, more information will be provided ‘at a later date’ — so be sure to check back as we’ll let you know as and when the upgrades are set to start rolling out.
