OnePlus Promises To Roll Out Its First Smartphone By June

OnePlus One

Chinese manufacturer OnePlus recently announced that its upcoming smartphone, the OnePlus One would be priced under $400. However, there was no word on the expected launch date of this device. The company answered that and several other questions during a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) conducted recently.

The manufacturer has promised to launch the One by June this year (Q2). This is still about three months away, so the fans will have to do a bit of waiting. Strangely, there’s not a lot that we know about this mystery smartphone besides the fact that it will eliminate a few customer pain points like price, design, battery life etc.

The team is closely associated with the team behind CyanogenMod and it is being said that the handset will be based on that. Other reports have even suggested that the device will come with stereo speakers, 16 or 64GB of internal storage, 4G LTE support and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset as well. If the company is able to offer these features for under $400, it could be a major success in the industry. OnePlus started off a smear campaign against its rival companies recently, so it has managed to catch public attention.
