The Samsung Galaxy S5 Could Cost Lower Than Its Rivals [Rumor]

Samsung Galaxy S5

The Samsung Galaxy S5 was one of the most talked about handsets at the MWC, even overshadowing the likes of the Sony Xperia Z2 and LG’s G Pro 2 phablet. But the new Samsung flagship might remain in the news for a while longer as a report from Korea claims that the handset could cost lesser than most of its competitors in the industry.

This report even goes on to say that the smartphone could be cheaper than the Galaxy S4 at launch, but we’ll take that with a pinch of salt. Considering that the Galaxy S5 is a tad underwhelming in terms of hardware, the relatively lower price tag might attract customers around the globe. It is said that Samsung will lower the contract pricing of the device as well, which should come as great news for buyers in the U.S.

Samsung is reportedly in consultations with international carriers to decide on the pricing, so we should have more information in time for the April launch. Given that the Korean manufacturer wasn’t able to live up to the hype with its new flagship, lowering the price tag could prove to be beneficial.
