Themer Returns To Google Play Without iOS 7 Theme

Themer-returns

Themer from MyColorScreen has returned to Google Play after it was suspended for infringing Apple’s intellectual property — but its popular iOS 7 theme is no more.

The app, which allows you to quickly and easily apply a new look to your Android home screen, infringed Apple copyrights with an iOS 7 theme that used several iPhone icon designs. It was pulled from Google Play on February 2 and on Monday its creators finally revealed why it had disappeared.

“After hitting 1 million downloads in less than four months a few weeks ago, Themer was suspended from the Play store on the night of February 2nd due to a copyright concern regarding our “Seven” theme (which is just one of over 200 themes available in Themer),” wrote MyColorScreen CEO Ashvin Dhingra on Google+.

“Apple Inc. claimed that several icons used in Seven infringed their copyrights.”

MyColorScreen removed the Seven theme as soon as Themer was suspended, but Google was in no rush to reinstate its app. Nine days later, it’s finally available to download again from Google Play.

So, if you’re wondering why so many people were disappointed with Themer’s removal, you can now download it for yourself and see what all the fuss is about. It’s completely free — just follow the source link below — but of course, it now comes without that iOS 7 theme.
