Motorola has officially teamed up with Flipkart, India’s largest e-commerce website, to launch its ultra-affordable mid-range smartphone, the Moto G, in India, for a budget-friendly ₹12,499 ($200) for the 8GB model and ₹13,999 ($225) for the 16GB variant. Both handsets come unlocked free of any nasty contracts and all taxes and shipping charges have been included.

In terms of specifications, the Moto G is possibly one of the most impressive affordable smartphones on the market, packing a 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1280, a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 305 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB/16GB of internal storage, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter and a 2,070 mAh Li-Ion removable battery.

It’s important to bear in mind that the Moto G being sold in India is a dual-SIM variant, which, unlike the model sold in Europe and the United States, ships running the latest build of ‘Vanilla’ Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but is expected to receive the much-anticipated 4.4 KitKat update in the coming weeks.

The handset is available to purchase from Flipkart’s online web store today, Thursday, February 6, and has an expected delivery date of 2-3 days. So, if you’re based in India and like the sound of the Moto G — click the link below to pick one up.
