Samsung has just unveiled yet another updated version of its former 2013 flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4, which is expected to launch later this month in Korea on all three major carriers — SK Telecom, Olleh and LG U+. It quickly becomes apparent that the South Korean company has adopted the latest LTE-Advanced technology for this new variant, entitled the S4 LTE-A which is rumored to be the final modification for the S4 series.

Unlike its predecessor which was powered by Samsung’s very own Exynos 5 Octa 5410 system-on-chip, this model sports the latest Qualcomm 800 chipset. However, all the other internal components remain the same, therefore meaning that the handset continues to pack a gorgeous 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, a PowerVR SGX 544MP3 GPU, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable internal storage and a 2600mAh removable Li-Ion battery.

The Galaxy S4 LTE-A is the second smartphone in Samsung’s lineup to feature a faux leather backplate, which successfully eliminates all traces of fingerprints, though, if you opt for the white model, be wary of how dirty it may get if it’s not cleaned on a regular basis.

The handset is available in three colorways; Rose Gold White, Rose Gold Black and Deep Black. The first two variants feature rose gold accents, whilst the latter is anodized in the traditional black and silver format which made its debut appearance on the original S4.

Unfortunately, the press release does not reveal if the handset will launch in Europe and the United States, so for now it looks like it’s a Korean exclusive. However, the S4 LTE-A did make its way to Europe, where it’s now available to purchase as the S4 Advance, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
