HTC has begun rolling out its Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update with Sense 5.5 to the original Butterfly, just over a month after it arrived on the more recent Butterfly S. The update weighs in at just over 500MB, and it brings a whole host of new features and improvements, including the ability to disable BlinkFeed.

Jelly-Bean-HTC-Butterfly@LlabTooFer, who’s famous for leaking information on upcoming HTC products and software updates, posted a screenshot of the update after it arrived on his Butterfly this morning. As you can see from its release notes, it brings support for custom soundtrack and content selection in Video Highlights, and the ability to create animated GIFs from Zoe and burst shots.

The update also makes some BlinkFeed improvements, adding support for offline viewing, custom news feeds, and multi-country and multi-language content. There’s also a BlinkFeed change the release notes don’t mention, and that’s the ability to disable the feature altogether. So if you don’t use it and you find it just gets in the way, you can finally remove it.

The update comes with software version number “3.15.707.4,” and it’s rolling out over-the-air. Those with unlocked handsets should get it first, while those locked to carriers will need to wait for its approval. Have you had yours yet?
